I love cats. Yes, I'm one of those cat people. I even go as far as to paint little kitties on my nails. So if you're a cat person like me, here is a super simple tutorial so you too can have a cats at your fingertips.

Paint your nails any color you like. Then, paint a half circle with a contrasting color. Using a toothpick or bobby pin, add two little ears.


Then choose two other colors for the eyes and mouth. Use the tool of your choice to draw on these tiny details.Yes, I realize my cat does not have whiskers. He's a special breed. Add whiskers if you would like.

paper sweets

Today my sister and I were in Lowe's with my mom, waiting for her to get some paint samples. We wandered over towards the paint chips and of course we couldn't resist the urge to pick out a few (...or a few dozen) of our favorite colors. But these paint chips were not going to go to waste. When I saw all the pretty pastels, I immediately thought of my cupcake and ice cream paper punches and the adorable things we could make.


As soon as we got home, I gathered together a few craft items so we could start our little project. I pulled out some seed beads, markers, glue, and the paper punches (I have the Martha Stewart ice cream and cupcake paper punches from Michaels).


Then we punched out our shapes, glued them together, and decorated them!


They turned out adorable, I love them! We couldn't stop make these little sweets, we made many  more then what is pictured.


They look very cute attached to some pink thread and hung across a birthday card, a wrapped gift, or even on your inspiration wall.

Make some paper cupcakes and ice cream cones to brighten up your day! ♥

crafty package

I stumbled upon this wonderful craft supply site called Yozo Craft a while ago and I bookmarked it right away. I forgot about it until I started searching for cute crafty things recently. They have great prices and the shipping cost was very reasonable. I decided to order a few things and the package just arrived yesterday!

So the things I ordered were: some tiny metal charms (in the top photo), two cute little memo books, deco tape (sorry you can't see the pattern), two tin coasters (I bought them for my dorm room that I'll be living in soon!), adorable peanut erasers (they have faces on them!), and some pretty stickers.

I definitely recommend this site to order craft supplies from! Not only are the costs low, but it shipped pretty quickly too (for having to travel halfway around the world!).

birthday cupcakes

Saturday we celebrated my sister's birthday by going to a local "cupcakerie" and decorating cupcakes! These are the ones that I made. It was so much fun, and the cupcakes are soooo delicous.

collage gift tags

More collage! It's so much fun, I can't help it! This time I made collage gift tags. This is a quick and fun craft if you're just in the mood to make something (like me), or if you waited until the last minute to wrap up a present (which I may or may not be guilty of) and you want it to look a little more original then just shoving it in a giftbag. So keep reading!

 I have 4 years worth a few too many Teen Vogue magazines. I just can't throw them away! So I was thinking, instead of them just sitting in my closet collecting dust, I should put them to good use, shouldn't I? I flipped through them and tore out pages that were "collage-worthy" and started cutting them up.

I cut cardstock into 3"x2" inch rectangles.

Then start collaging! I put washi tape on first, but if don't have any washi tape (gasp!) then you could just paint a background. Or leave it white. Your choice!

Afterwards I sealed them with mod-podge. Punch a hole in the top, thread in some string, and wrap your gift!

cupcake charms

Here are the cupcake charms I talked about last week! That orange-y looking frosting was supposed to be hot pink, but it the color changed when I baked it. Oh well, I still like them.

ice cream charms!

 I made some new clay charms! They're all ice cream cones. I also made a cupcake, you can see it blurred out in the background of the picture below. I'll post some pictures soon of all the cupcakes I made, for now you can just see the ice cream charms!

diy kawaii paperclips

I made these cute Hello Kitty and Rilakkuma paperclips out of clay. Here's a tutorial! First is how to make Hello Kitty.

Now Hello Kitty's finished, so it's time to make Rilakkkuma!

I didn't take a picture, but attach it to a paperclip the same way as you did for Hello Kitty and bake.

 I attempted making a Cinnamoroll paperclip too, but it didn't turn out as well as  wanted it to.

kawaii collage envelopes

 I was inspired to make these collage envelopes by this new blog I found called My Life As a Magazine. It is such a cool blog, so you have to go check it out!

To make the envelopes, you can either google a template to print out and use, or trace an envelope you have lying around. Then just decorate it with paper scraps, magazine cutouts, washi tape, etc...

I printed out some macaroon pictures from Pugly Pixel, they are super cute!

So just have fun with it, use whatever papers you have in you craft supply stash, and make some pretty envelopes!

deco

 I was searching deviantart for mini clay food when I came across a japanese craft called "deco". Deco is decorating something with clay pieces (usually made out of air-dry clay) adhered  with "whipped cream clay" (more about that further down). It looked really cute, so I decided to try it out. 

 I did a little research and the whipped cream clay is actually silicone (the kind you find at Lowe's or Home Depot). There is an actual "whipped cream clay" sold in Japan, but silicone is easier to find and buy and it's basically the same thing.

 Then you just need to make your little clay decorations (usually mini food). Most people use air-dry clay for deco, because it is so light, but I have tons of sculpey (polymer clay) so I just decided use that.

I love that little ice cream scoop that I made. And I really like how the frosting (silicone) turned out on the cupcakes (in the second picture) but next time I'm going to try to make the actual cupcake part look a little more realistic.

These donuts technically aren't deco since I didn't use the silicone, but they are still pretty cute.
