valentines crafts

I know we still have another week until Valentine's Day, but I felt like making lots of pink things over the weekend. Last week I didn't have any time to do crafts until the weekend, but by then I was feeling so uninspired. I wanted to make something, but I didn't feel like it. That doesn't make much sense, but whatever. I had put off doing creative things for so long I just didn't feel like doing anything. Do you know that feeling? But I made myself just start with folding the little origami heart (directions here via Teacup Monster) and that got me in the mood to make more things, which turned into a whole day of crafting. So my tip if you aren't feeling creative but want to make something, just start! And hopefully that will spur your creativity.

I decorated a little box (shown in the picture above and below) and my pink nail polish fit perfectly in it and looked so pretty. I'm not giving it to anybody (it would be a good valentines gift though), I just wanted to take pictures.

This is the top of the box, and I wrapped gold striped washi tape around the bottom half.

Paper beads! I love making these and they're so easy! I have a tutorial here.

Of course I had to make a mini envelope. If you've been reading my blog for a while you know how much I love making envelopes.

This is what my workspace looked like as I was creating! I loved the colors of everything so I had to take a picture.

I hope these photographs inspired you to make some valentines creations! And while you're crafting, listen to this music mix, it goes perfectly with this post.

  1. For someone who was putting off crafts, you did a great job. I love the Essie nail polish in the paper box. Adorable for Valentine's Day or just for cute gift wrapping.
