Merry Christmas! I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday! I'm in Virginia visiting family, and it's a cold, rainy Christmas Eve- perfect for drinking hot cocoa and making cookies! And if you're anything like me and still have some gifts to wrap, check out the rest of this post for some simple wrapping ideas!

painted wooden ornaments

diy wooden ornament
I was browsing Target the other day and saw these wooden discs in the craft section and thought they would be perfect for making ornaments or gift tags for Christmas! I painted mine with mountain scenes, but there are so many possibilities for decorating them! I think these would be so cute as a little stocking stuffer, adorning a present, or just to hang in your Christmas tree!

free gift tag printable

printable blush gift tags
I've begun to wrap some Christmas gifts, and I'm in love with a blush pink palette for the holidays- rather than red and green. (And it's no secret that blush pink is one of my favorite colors!) I made some printable gift tags because I can never find the perfect ones in the store, and I'm sharing them with you! Check out the end of the post for the download link.

stellaire handmade

So my special project that I mentioned in my last post... I'm opening a stationery shop! I've been waiting to announce it on my blog because I wanted to get more designs made, but I'm too excited to wait any longer! In the next few weeks you can expect to see more designs and new products listed. I have so many ideas and I've only just begun working on them!

holiday wrapping guide

holiday wrapping guide
Christmas is less than a week away and if you're anything like me, you haven't finished all your gift wrapping yet. I've put together a little guide of all the things I use to wrap presents to give you a little inspiration as you're finishing up your holiday wrapping!

gift wrap
I keep my wrapping paper selection to only a few rolls, and make sure all the patterns look good together.

wrapping supplies
The scrapbooking aisle of the craft store is one of my favorite places to find pretty wrapping decorations. Tags, tiny envelopes, doilies, and embellishments are all perfect for decorating a package!

wrapping supplies
Emroidery floss, pretty ribbon, and washi tape are also handy to have when wrapping.

wrapping supplies
I like to have a variety of stickers to write names on my packages!

wrapping supplies
For smaller gifts, it's fun to use different little containers and boxes. I have a tutorial for the starry pillow box here.

christmas presents
I hope this gave you a few ideas for wrapping your gifts!

christmas packaging

christmas packaging
I've begun wrapping some of my Christmas gifts, so I'm sharing what I've wrapped so far to give you some packaging ideas! I love gift wrapping because it's a great chance to get creative. I like to use simple wrapping paper, so I can decorate the packages with lots of ribbon and tags and stickers. The scrapbooking section of the craft store is a great place to look for packaging decorations!

DIY stocking stuffers

DIY Stocking Stuffers
I love little gifts and pretty packaging, so stocking stuffers are one of my favorite things to make for Christmas. I put together a little video tutorial for four stocking stuffer ideas that are really easy to make, and super cute too!

DIY Stocking Stuffers DIY Stocking Stuffers
Remember the mini mountain painting tutorial I posted a few weeks ago? I think a set of those would be the perfect stocking stuffer! I also found glass vials at the craft store that I filled with hot chocolate, but you could also fill them with tea leaves or bath salts!

DIY Stocking Stuffers
I wrapped up a couple packets of my favorite holiday tea for another cute stocking stuffer. I also painted some clothespins to make one more pretty gift!

DIY Stocking Stuffers
I hope you enjoy this video! Let me know if you have any other stocking stuffer ideas, I'd love to try them out!

pretty paper packaging

pretty paper packaging
I love kraft paper for wrapping because it provides the perfect blank canvas to decorate however you please. I wrapped a few small gifts with it and personalized them with some craft supplies I had in my stash. Don't underestimate how pretty a simple and minimal package can be!

hello 2015. a memory jar

2015
2014 was a year full of adventures, new friends, opportunity, trying to figure things out, falling, getting back up again, inspiration, clarity, saying goodbye, and also saying hello.

memory jar
memory jars
A new year means a new memory jar. I made my memory jar last year with the intention to fill it up with good things that happened, so then I could look back onto the year and remember all the happiness. I want to continue the tradition this year- it is so important to take time to look back on all the good things that happened.

breathe deeply golden stars memories
I took my 2014 jar off my shelf and emptied out the notes. I sat down on my bed and smiled as I read through all of the things I wrote throughout the year. Some things mean nothing anymore, some things are just little- almost insignificant- moments, some are big events that happened, and others are things I just wanted to remember, for some reason or another. They all made 2014.

paper bows // DIY

paper bows // diy
I was browsing pinterest the other day when I saw this pin for straws decorated with paper straws, which I thought were adorable! I didn't have any straws to decorate, but I wanted to try making the paper bows because they could be used on so many other things (>> small gifts boxes, jars, magnets, wall decorations, etc...).

paper bow template
I googled a paper bow template and found exactly what I was looking for on How About Orange. She has a free template that I printed and cut out. (ps. I printed the template at 50% because I wanted tiny bows).

paper bow pieces
I traced the template on scrapbook paper and cut out all the pieces.

paper bow
I folded the bows together and used glue to attach all the pieces.

paper bow gift topper
I'm excited to use these to wrap small gifts. They're so easy to make, and they look so pretty!

diy packaging // paper envelopes

diy paper envelopes
I love making my own envelopes because they're so pretty and they're handy to have around when you need a quick fix for packaging a small gift. These are perfect to slip a handmade necklace or bracelet into, or to house a little notecard to brighten someone's day! Or maybe you could make a few wooden polaroid magnets and wrap them in one of these envelopes!

making envelopes
I printed a small coin envelope template and traced it onto scrap paper. I cut out my envelopes, and used a bone folder to score and fold them.

paper envelopes
Now that you have some envelopes made, these are your blank canvas to decorate however you want!

envelope decorations
Decorating them is my favorite part- the possibilities are endless! I incorporated washi tape, stamps, ribbon, sequins, and small paper shapes.
