As a college student, it seems like most people I know take an extreme stance on Valentine's Day- either they love it or they absolutely despise it. Or they only appreciate it as a way to get discounted candy on February 15th. Personally, I love the holiday because it's the perfect excuse for me to show everyone in my life how much I love them by baking lots of treats and making pretty gifts (which, if you've been following my blog for very long you know that's pretty much my favorite thing to do whether or not there's a holiday).
Since grade school my favorite thing about Valentine's Day has been making valentines to give to all my friends. I've started making some of my valentines for this year and I wanted to give you some DIY inspiration so you can make them too!
I made the first one by creating a mini card out of kraft paper, and cutting a heart out of the front. I layered paper and stickers and embellishments in the inside, so it it peeked through the heart cutout!
The second one is a mini floral envelope inside a glassine bag. I wrapped it with washi tape and sealed it with a heart sticker.
The last valentine is a card made by layering scrapbook paper and decorating with a tag and embellishments.
What kind of valentines are you making this year? I'm still planning a few other little gifts for my friends, so I'll be sure to show you all when I'm finished! I have some DIY valentines from previous years that you can see here and here. And if you want some more inspiration you can check out the Valentine's Day tag on my blog!
I love these! I have to admit I haven't really been into the holiday in the past but I am loving it this year!
