twilight

So here's how it all started, "it" being my new found addiction to the Twilight series. Now don't jump to conclusions and group me with those fanatic teenage girls who obsess over Taylor Lautner and have Twilight posters plastered on their walls. Haha, I may be a fanatic but I'm not one of those fanatics.

Last Friday my friend invited me to see the new Twilight movie, Breaking Dawn Part 1. I agreed, even though I had never read any of the books or seen any of the movies. Crazy, right? Actually a year or two ago my best friend kept trying to get me to read them, but I never did because I thought they would be stupid and I didn't want to be one of those girls. But anyways, it was amazing. I'm not exaggerating, I loved it even though I didn't know the Twilight story.

So the next day I borrowed the books from my mom's friend, because I was going to read them over Thanksgiving break while I was in Texas. And since my mom's friend had read them, she convinced my mom to read them also. My mom. Reading Twilight. I never ever would have thought that would happen. Now if my mom loves them as much as I do (enough to buy the whole hardcover book set), that alone should convince you to read them.

I read the first 3 books in a week (I started last Sunday). I actually just finished "Eclipse", the third book (and the books pictured above), last night. I honestly can't say enough about this series. It is so well written, I feel like I am in the story when I read the books. I wish I was in the story, it's that good! I have one book left to read, but I almost don't want to read it yet because I don't want the series to end! The Twilight books are my favorite books now, up there with Harry Potter. Now that's saying something if I like a book series as much as Harry Potter.

Disclaimer: If you've only seen the movies and not the books, stop what you're doing right now and start reading the books. The books are 100 times better then the movies, and the first movie is nothing like the first book.

By the way, in case anyone was wondering, I'm Team Edward.
Now go read Twilight!

ps. Jade, even though you don't usually like books like this, I think you would love them as much as I do. But I would wait until you're older to read them.

  1. I CAN NOT BELIEVE YOU! ASK ANY OTHER POTTERHEAD WHO HAS READ TWILIGHT AND THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT HARRY POTTER IS MUCH BETTER. BETTER WRITTEN AND A BETTER STORY AND BETTER CHARACTERS. I can't judge this for myself because I have never read on page of a Twighlight book, but potterheads are almost always right. Maybe I'm just annoyed because all of my non-potterhead friends loved those books but didn't even think of picking up a HP book. But seriously? YOu are giving in to those annoying age 10+ girls who categorize anything as equal to Harry Potter? Nothing can be better. BTW i got u an awesome CHristmas present that you will LOVE.

  2. Haha, I've read both the Harry Potter and Twilight series and I love them both equally! I never said Twilight was better then Harry Potter because nothing can be better then Harry Potter. But Twilight is amazing. You'd have to read it to understand. I agree with you, it annoys me when people won't even give Harry Potter a chance. But don't worry, I will always be a potterhead! Can't wait to open the gift! I have an awesome Christmas present for you too!!!!! You will LOOOOOOOOOVE it.
