la vie en rose

la vie en rose

la vie en rose by stellaire

These past few weeks have gone by in a whirlwind, and I've missed my blog dearly! I am so sorry for the absence! Throughout October, I had a big project I was working on for my art class. There are so many crafty things I've wanted to do, but that project didn't leave me much time to work on my hobbies. After a month though, it is finally finished! So now I am back to blogging; be on the look out for fun, new posts coming up!

summer travels

summer travels

summer travels by stellaire

Beautiful, breezy beaches; clouds outside airplane windows, Santa Monica Pier; pacific coast sunsets; exploring LA; 4th of July barbecues; surfing in VA Beach; this is what's in store for me in the next few weeks. I begin my travels tomorrow, leaving behind my small, Alabama town, to go from coast to coast to coast. Florida, California, and Virginia are my destinations.

I might try to find time to do blog posts in-between my adventures, but if I can't, I will be back mid-July. ♥

ps. Happy Summer Solstice!

fairy inspired: prom

fairy inspired: prom
Today is very exciting because tonight is my senior prom! I meant to do a post a while ago about what I'm going to wear to prom, but I kept putting it off. So I'm finally doing it this morning!

So the look I was going for was just light and pretty, almost "fairy-like" as my friends and I have termed it. I started with choosing a dress. This was hard. I went to several shops in town, but I didn't like any of the dresses because they were too "prom-y", if you know what  I mean. Like lots of shiny satin and bedazzling and flashy colors and not my style at all. So I started looking online, and I eventually decided on the J.Crew Arabelle Dress in the color "Misty Rose". Then, I knew I wanted flowers in my hair. So I scoured the internet once again, this time looking for a floral crown. I looked on etsy and various online shops, and the one I found that I liked the best was a white rose crown from Urban Outfitters. Next, I searched for shoes. At first I was going to get super tall platform heels in an attempt to avoid having to get my dress hemmed. So I found some, bought them, and brought them home to try on with my dress. After walking around the house in them, I realized what a horrible idea it was to get such tall shoes because I felt like I was going to fall and twist my ankle at any moment. So I decided to return them, accept the fact that I would need to go get my dress hemmed, and just wear some nude, patent pumps (with a much lower heel) that I had in my closet. And finally, for my hair and makeup, I am going to go for a natural, "fairy-like" look: blushing pink cheeks; light, shimmery eyeshadow; soft pink lips; and long, wavy hair.

I might post pictures on instagram later today, so you can check that if you want to see how I pulled it all together! (My instagram is stellairestellar).

Have a wonderful Friday everyone! ♥

decorating with pretty jars

p r e t t y j a r s

Collect some pretty jars {recycled or from the thrift store are the best} and fill them with little things that make you happy {ribbon, charms, golden stars, sparkles, dried flower petals, love notes, paper beads, etc...} then line them up on a shelf for a lovely decoration.

songs to listen to

books and music

books and music by stellaire

Here are a few songs I've been enjoying lately. They're the type you can listen to with a cup of tea and a cracked window on a cool, starry night.

finding the perfect dress

awards

So I'm leaving soon to go on a business trip and during this trip there will be an awards ceremony that I have to dress up for. I searched and searched for the right dress and couldn't find one! Everything was either too dressy or too casual. Finally, my aunt told me she had a dress I could borrow, and it was perfect! It is light pink (my favorite color) and flowy and pretty and girly and I love it! I couldn't find it online (she got it at H&M a couple years ago) but the dress in the picture above is pretty close to how it looks. I'm going to wear it with nude pumps and gold dangly earrings. I'll put my hair up in a low bun and for makeup I think I'll do a simple cat eye. It's always fun getting to dress up, isn't it? ♥

i am the dreamer

i am the dreamer

She decided to free herself, dance into the wind, crate a new language. And birds fluttered around her, writing "yes" into the sky.

I want to think again of dangerous and noble things. I want to be light and frolicsome. I want to be improbably and beauiful and afraid of nothing as though I had wings.

pretty photographs

В Контакте | Фотографии
I found these two beautiful images on polyvore and I can't find the original source anywhere. I've tried searching google and TinEye. They are so pretty, I want to find out who took the pictures and if there are more like them! If anyone knows the source or how I can find it, please let me know!

I've changed my blog address! I spent a while trying to decide, and I finally decided to just do it. I know it will probably cause a little bit of confusion, but it's better I change it sooner than later. Please update your links! :)

I prefer to dance and fly with the butterfly

a lazy day full of blogging

a lazy day full of blogging

Jade and I have started doing these collages every week, at least we're  supposed to be doing  it every week but I've been a little bit behind on things (sorry Jade!). This week Jade picked the theme "a lazy day full of blogging" so this is the outfit I came up with! A comfy tshirt, cargo pants, and fuzzy slippers and of course I had to include washi tape! (I'm not trying to copy yours Jade!)
