I put together a short video tutorial to show you guys how I do this! I want to start getting back into making videos, but I've actually been kind of scared to start making them. I've been telling myself for months to just make something, so I finally decided to put together this short and sweet video to motivate me to make more. I'm not sure what direction I'm going to take my Youtube channel in, but I'm excited to get back into this!

faux bob tutorial
I haven't had short hair since junior high (when I decided I wanted to cut it past my chin!), but every now and then I get the urge to chop it all off. I never go through with it, because I love having long hair too much, so instead I opt for faking short hair. This faux bob is essentially just a really loose low bun, but from the front it looks like a short hair style. When I've worn my hair like this, I've actually had people tell me how much they love my new haircut! (until they realize it's just my hair tied up)

going pink

I've wanted pastel hair for the longest time (I fell in love with Kelly Osbourne's lavender hair a few years ago!) but I never did it because I didn't want to lose my hair color. But I kept seeing photos on pinterest that really made me want to change up my hair, so I finally decided to do a light pink, ombre color- that way I keep my natural hair color up top, but still get to have pink hair!

I found the exact rosy-pink color I was looking for at a beauty supply shop. It's the brand "Ion Color Brilliance Brights", in the color "Rose".

With some pointers from my aunt- who is a professional (thanks Vanessa!) and after watching a few youtube tutorials, I gathered together my supplies and went for it!

It surprisingly wasn't too difficult, and I really love how it turned out! I did not bleach my hair because I didn't want to damage my ends. My hair was already light enough anyway, and I think it blends in better without bleach. I call it "naturally pink" ;)
I'm so happy I decided to try out pink hair! If you're trying to decide whether or not to try it too, I would say go for it! And next time I do my hair, I might make a tutorial if anyone is interested!

new hair, new me
So maybe I'm a bit enamoured by Zooey Deschanel right now (who isn't?) but I promise I wasn't trying to copy her look. I've been thinking about getting bangs for a loooong time and finally decided to just do it because it's just hair, right? Well it's easier said than done, and I was kind of freaking out right before I got my hair chopped off. I was seriously reconsidering my decision as soon as I saw the scissors about to make the first cut. You'd think it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but my hair is really long, so getting bangs meant it would be years before they grew out to their original length. But I went through with it, and in the end, I'm really happy with how they look! I'm still missing my long hair in the front, but I really really really love my bangs. I love how my hair will look so put-together now, even if I just pull it into a messy bun. If you know any cute hairstyles to do with bangs, let me know; I want to try them!

painted bobby pins
I was sitting at my desk and I had a bobby pin and a bottle of nail polish right next to each other. I was trying to figure out something to make, and then all of a sudden I had the crazy idea to paint the bobby pin with nail polish. So thus began this painted bobby pin tutorial.
Slide the bobby pins onto a piece of paper to paint them. I folded the edges down so I could paint both sides of the bobby pin and let it dry standing up. It's best to use nail polish that's more opaque, unless you have really light colored bobby pins. All I had were black ones. Let them dry for a while before you try to put them in your hair.
A while ago when I was in H&M I saw some colored bobby pins that I loved! But the practical side of me thought "Do I really need to pay $3 for colored bobby pins when I have perfectly fine black ones at home?" So I didn't buy them, and I'm glad I didn't!
I also tried using a gold glitter nail polish and I think it turned out really well! I made two because I liked it so much.
Have a wonderful Saturday! ♥
